Trump Taps Kash Patel to Lead FBI, Vows to Tackle Crime and Border Security

Kash Patel

President-elect Donald Trump announced that Kashyap “Kash” Patel will serve as the next Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Patel, a seasoned lawyer, investigator, and staunch advocate for the “America First” agenda, has built a career around exposing corruption and defending the principles of justice.

“Kash did an incredible job during my First Term, where he served as Chief of Staff at the Department of Defense, Deputy Director of National Intelligence, and Senior Director for Counterterrorism at the National Security Council,” Trump noted in his Saturday statement.

Patel’s appointment comes after a distinguished tenure in various roles within the U.S. government. He is widely recognized for his instrumental work in uncovering the Russia investigation, often referred to as the “Russia, Russia, Russia Hoax.” As a vocal advocate for accountability, Trump said, truth, and the Constitution, Patel played a key role in challenging what he and many others saw as politically motivated attacks on the integrity of American democracy.

The incoming president said that Patel’s first term leadership showcased his deep understanding of national security and his commitment to safeguarding the American people.

In addition to his high-level government experience, Trump noted Patel’s strong background in the legal field, having tried over 60 jury trials. His courtroom experience, combined with his expertise in intelligence and national security, positions him as a formidable choice to lead the FBI in a time of rising crime and growing threats to public safety.

As FBI Director, Trump said Patel’s top priorities will include combating the escalating crime epidemic across the nation, dismantling migrant criminal gangs, and tackling the pervasive issues of human and drug trafficking, particularly along the U.S.-Mexico border. Working alongside Attorney General Pam Bondi, Patel is set “to bring back Fidelity, Bravery, and Integrity.”

Patel’s appointment signals a commitment to restoring the public’s faith in the FBI and ensuring that the agency operates with transparency and accountability.

What is so great about this is the current director, Christopher Wray, theoretically has two more years left to serve. To paraphrase Representative Clay Higgins of Louisiana…don’t leave town.
